Polly is a Johannesburg-based software startup building insurance administration tools for the teams doing the real work of distribution, underwriting, servicing, claims, and reinsurance. We started with a simple view: too much of the industry still runs on systems that slow people down, frustrate customers, and make good operators work harder than they should.
Between us, we bring decades of experience in insurance — spanning actuarial modelling, reinsurance structuring, and software development across multiple product lines, operating models, and insurance environments. We're a lean team with a practical bias. We care about operational clarity, strong workflows, and software that earns trust by being reliable, configurable, and straightforward to use. That means better experiences for insurers, brokers, cell captives, MGAs, and UMAs — and better outcomes for the people they serve.

We want insurance operations to feel less fragmented, less manual, and less adversarial. Better systems should support both providers and policyholders, not force one side to absorb the pain.

Good insurance software should help teams make sound decisions, respond faster, and stay compliant without burying them under unnecessary friction. It should support complex products, regulatory requirements, and operational controls - but still feel calm and usable day to day.
That is the standard we're building toward. Polly is still early, still hungry, and still improving - but the direction is clear: better infrastructure for the businesses carrying insurance forward, and better service for the customers depending on them.
